George Michael receives license suspension for 6 months

For the next six months the roads in London are safe again, because a judge has suspended the drivers license of pop star George Michael.

On Aug. 24, Michael plead guilty to drug offenses following a July 4 incident in which he crashed his Range Rover into the Snappy Snaps Photo Shop near his home. Reports state that Michael was found slumped behind the wheel and sweating profusely with dilated pupils when police arrived at the scene.

During his 15-minute appearance at the Highbury Corner Magistrates Court, former Wham! frontman plead guilty to driving under the influence and marijuana possession.

George Michael continues car crash trend

George Michael went from “Careless Whisper” to careless driver last weekend when he crashed his Range Rover into a 24-hour photo shop near his home in London.

After the former Wham! star slammed his car into the building, he stepped away from his car and waited for police. Michael’s scary driving has resulted in seven police investigations over the past six years, according to London’s Mirror.

Michael was taken into police custody under suspicion for drugs and is believed to have been tested, though none were recovered. Reports state that Michael didn’t undergo a breathalyzer test and claimed he had not been drinking.

George Michael Takes The Stage

George Michael just finished a trio of performances in Australia.  The shows took a sold out audience through his extensive career of hit songs.

Michael proclaimed to the crowd, “It’s been 22 years (since he has stepped out on stage), I’m going to try and make it up to you tonight.” At age 46, “his voice remains distinctive and powerful, evoking hedonistic clubs, teenage discos and rollerskating rinks for the nostalgic crowd.” ( Read More…)

Michael to release Christmas single

George Michael will release a special holiday single. His song “December Song (I dreamed of Christmas)” will be available free on his web site for download as well as other outlets on Dec. 25.

The special release was recorded and written by Michael himself along with David Austin. The release will mark the first Christmas single from Michael since “Last Christmas” back in 1984.

25 Live: Final Tours

On August 3, George Michael wrapped up his ’25 Live Tour’ in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, and now he’s gearing up to go back to Europe!

For his homecoming, he’ll be heading to London on August 24th and 25. Then, he’ll be performing the Final One in Copenhagen for 40,000 eager fans!

Despite the gossip that Andrew Ridgeley will be making a surprise appearance, George Michael’s webpage denies these rumors.

Two year tour coming to an end…

George Michael is gearing up to play the last concert of his two-year worldwide tour at Copenhagen’s Parken Stadium on August 30th!

This performance, titled The Final One, will allow George to say thank you to his loyal fans— not only in Scandinavia, but also across Europe. For this show, fans will be treated to songs that George has not yet performed in Denmark, along with additional, unique staging!

In 2006, George broke the all-time record for both tickets sales and gross income at the Parken Stadium in Copenhagen, a record that was formerly held by U2.

Britain fans pleasantly surprised…

Recently, George Michael surprised his British fans when he announced that he is to play 2 special concerts at Earls Court on August 24 and 25. The performances will mark the end of his 25 Live Tour, which started waaay back in September 2006 in Barcelona.

The final concerts are entitled THE FINAL TWO, which will be sort of a rememberance to his sell out Wembley Stadium show in 1986 called ‘THE FINAL’ with Andrew Ridgely.

These particular shows will feature Michael’s hits, some tracks not previously performed in Britain, and a stunning new stage set.

George Michael Tours U.S. for the First Time in 17 Years

In just over a month, two-time Grammy Award winning George Michael is going to tour the U.S. for the first time in 17 years. Michael, who has sold more than 85 million records worldwide, will be touring the U.S. and Canada between June and August.

Michael’s success began when he and Andrew Ridgeley formed Wham!, a pop band in the UK. After Wham! ended in 1987, Michael released his first solo album Faith, and, in time, 4 more ablums between 1990 and 2004.
